Care for your eyes

I have been using contact lenses for quite a time now. Though lenses free you from glasses and make you confident, they are bad for our eyes and cornea. I am contemplating Lasik surgery now. I consulted my eye doc last weekend for an allergy. Here are some points I noted.

1) Allergies in the eye become common if lenses are worn.
2) Removing dust from the eye or rubbing eyes at night before sleep is dangerous. You must avoid it. The final result of such habits is a condition called FLOATERS. Floaters is a condition characterized by floating shadows before your eyes. This doesn't affect vision. However, it ends in detaching of the cornea from the eye and making you blind. So, avoid rubbing your eyes.
3) Blink is a blessing. Blink as much as you can, as blinks lubricate the eye and removes dirt.
4) Consult your doc before using any medication on the eye.
5) Discontinue lenses at once if you find any irritation or swelling in the eye.
6) Lasik surgery comes in different mutant versions, comparable by their surgery procedure and precision. However, the technology and skill with which this surgery is done in India is commendable. Notable best-doers are LVP(L V Prasad) and Shankar Nethralaya.
7) Lasik surgery requires pre-diagnosis of your cornea and many other parameters. All it takes is to go the eye clinic 2 days in advance, plan up with them, undergo the test and if they find it suitable to operate on you, then the next day you can walk out with black sunglasses on brand new eyes. After a week, you can attend office, sit in front of the PC. After a month, you can freely walk the streets in sunshine too.
However, I must tell you that that they will perform the Lasik on your eyes for sure is not guaranteed. They may return you empty handed and without hope and ask you to continue wearing lenses. However, this happens only rarely. Do not get disheartened, new precision techniques are there to come.
8) Your diet regimen affects how your eyes perform at every age. Fruits and vegetables are a must to nurture, lubricate and strengthen your vision. Eggs help better.
9) Wear a protective glass on your eye if you go outside wearing lenses. This may prevent all the allergies and infections.
